NeoSpace Europe, where talents and industry meet

Talent development is one of Luxembourg’s main focuses, which is why for the first time since its initiation, NeoSpace Europe introduces a brand-new concept entirely dedicated to talents.

The NeoSpace Challenge invites Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students from across the world, to test their skills against real-world challenges issued by Luxembourg industry leaders. This intensive two-day event offers a unique chance to work on use-cases currently faced within the sector while collaborating with peers from different backgrounds. It’s an opportunity to build valuable experience, connect with relevant companies, and put your academic knowledge into practice.

The NeoSpace Challenge is co-organised by LSA, Universeh and Technoport.

How to participate

Teams

Call for candidates

Put a team together (6 members max) and push the boundaries of your collective expertise by participating to a real-world Challenge.

Operating under a banner of your choice, your group will advance a shared mission with the guidance of industry experts. 

Each member must complete the form below and specify their team affiliation to register.

In the case you don’t have a team, you can still apply individually and we’ll match you with a group of your peers.

An Experiential Learning Opportunity

Explore new ways of working, beyond the classroom: 

  • Address real use cases requiring multi-factor solutions: Technical, Economic and Regulatory.  
  • Interact directly with Subject Matter Experts 
  • Submit a pre-IP, ESA-format-compliant output, developed with the support of AI tools

How the Challenge works 

Each category corresponds to a generic challenge — a broad, industry-relevant theme in the space sector. Companies have submitted concrete use cases tied to these themes, grounded in problems or questions they’re facing. 

You may choose to: 

  • Pick a specific use case submitted by a company, or 
  • Take on the generic challenge independently, with greater latitude to define your own scope 

 

In both cases, mentors will be available to support your team throughout the programme.  

Tackle it from three angles 

Whether you address a specific use case or the generic theme, your work will need to consider three complementary dimensions: 

  • Technical – design or evaluation of the proposed technological solution (e.g. satellite systems, robotics, AI, operations) 
  • Regulatory – consideration of relevant international treaties, licensing frameworks, and compliance requirement 
  • Economic – development of a viable business model and market strategy

Scholarship

Scholarship

To ensure that students from diverse backgrounds are able to participate, scholarships will be offered to all selected candidates, helping reduce financial barriers.

Scholarship support includes:

  • 150 euros contribution for travel expenses
  • Two nights of accommodation in Luxembourg during the challenge (breakfast included)
  • Catered lunch provided

Other advantages:
